The 1960 Vintage Airstream Tradewind was imported from Galveston, Texas. America to Southampton.
Once in the UK it was stripped out of its interior, removed the body to strengthen the chassis and have new UK spec axles and tow hitch put on.
It was then converted it into a mobile catering unit along with serving hatch, steel benches and a wood fired oven!
Finally it was polished and we were ready to rock and roll out some pizzas!!
The Airstream was created by Wally Byam, a lawyer by training, who began building trailers in his backyard in Los Angeles during the late 1920s.
The first Airstream, called the "Clipper" in 1936, was named after the first trans-Atlantic seaplane.
After World War II Airstream went from strength to strength.
